Growing up in the South Side of Milwaukee I saw the injustice that affected my community. As a kid saw how community leaders used art as a tool to create and promote justice influenced me to one day become one of those community leaders. Photography became my method to express my voice on social issues and bring light to untold stories. Although I am young, I am determined to create change. I want to create art that tackles controversial issues such as immigration, segregation, and racial inequality and present the work with photography. Photography has a unique ability to tell truths, to un-abstract reality. Photographic images carry a certain kind of innate truth within it. This is why photography is so powerful to ignite moments of social change. My goal is to build bridges between people and break down the barriers that separate us from each other.
