“Voy a buscar mi mamá antes que se olvide de mi”
(“I'm going to find my mom before she forgets about me”)

There are over 69,550 migrant children held in U.S. detention centers. Children 12 and under have become the fastest growing group of unaccompanied minors at the U.S. border. These children are fleeing their home due to high rates of violent crime, gang violence and recruitment, severe economic insecurity but most importantly the desire to reunite with family members. They have made the desperate determination that it is safer to attempt to flee alone to the border than to remain at risk of persecution or violence. These children embark on a deadly journey with the determination to one day see their parents again.
